Let’s talk about what size marquee I need for your event.
Here’s a small table that we’ve made and that shows you the marquee sizes that are the standard sizes available to you and how many people that holds standing, how many people it holds seated.
There’s also some small things to consider. If we do add a dance floor, or a DJ area, or a bar setup these items will obviously will take space up and will alter how many people we can hold in the structure itself.
So that’s why we’ve given you that table to give you a realistic figure of what marquee size that you for your party with the amount of guests you have coming.

What Size Marquee Do I Need for my Event – Using all available space at home
So bear that in mind, you might be using the house as well so you wouldn’t necessarily need a marquee for every single person that’s going. But also bear in mind that there will be certain peak times of the event say 10 o’clock of an of an evening party and the DJ’s got everyone dancing you may find everybody will be in and around the dance floor – it’s always best to have a little extra space and go for one marquee size up.
It’s always best to go one size up than to be the other way round. To go one size up is not going make a huge impact to the higher price, but it will just give you a bit of peace of mind that if things do get busy and everyone’s in the marquee you’ve got the space for everybody. Nobody wants to be packed in like a tin of sardines! You may find your guest-list may creep up to the week leading up to the event – so make sure you’ve got the space for everybody. You’ll also find last minute you may want to put a table out for food etc and suddenly you have no room for it go to anywhere – make sure you have some spare space as you’ll need it! What Size Marquee Do I Need for my Event – What Size Dance floor do I Need? For smaller marquees; a 3m x 4m dance floor would take 15-20 dancers which we recommend for marquees up to 4m x 6m. A 4m x 4m dance floor would take up to 40 dancers and work better for the larger marquees. It’s always best to have the DJ/dance floor right at the far end of the marquee as logistically it works best. If you’re having a DJ, there needs to be space for their DJ booth around the dance floor too which often becomes an after thought until they turn up! You may want to put a couple of tables out for food for example that you haven’t considered the space it will take up.
